Bad Mommy Monday-4
(Oops. I wrote this earlier, and then forgot to change the post date…)
1. It wasn’t me who fed Norah and Isaiah donuts and Cheese Nips for breakfast on Friday morning.
2. Nor was it me who continued to let the kids eat the Cheese Nips even after they had been dumped onto the carpet.
3. It wasn’t me who decided that drawing on the kids’ faces with chalk was more fun than drawing on the sidewalk.
4. It wasn’t me who inexplicably lost Isaiah’s shorts somewhere in my rather small house.
5. It was definately not me who lost Garret’s car keys, only to have Jasmine find them in her car.
6. And it was most certainly not me who was only halfway kidding about stasing the kids somewhere at the mall so Jasmine and I could get pedicures.
(Ok fine. That last one was me. But I was 100% kidding about stashing them somewhere.)
It was a long week…
lol!its ok honey..it happens…
hahaha! You’re forgiven Mom! It’s a crazy world after all. Thanks for sharing. By the way, there’s a new social networking site dedicated to parents and kids, it’s called Bluepixo.com – it’s a place for Moms, Dads, and Kids! Now, there’s even a chance to win a free iPod Nano! I’m inviting you to meet other parents. And enjoy parenthood to the fullest. Thanks.
Sounds like a heck of a week.
I was blissfully without bad mommy moments (at least none that come to mind at the moment), but I did have a moment that made me think of you. I was at Target with my two younger ones, looking for a birthday present for my oldest. And as my daugher handed me one item after another that she’d removed from the shelves and I tried to decide between a thousand identical party favors, I just kept saying, “Thank you, that’s lovely, isn’t that fun? Look what that does. Yes…”
And a woman poked her head around the aisle and said, “That’s so nice to hear. I really need to remember to take the time to be playful and enjoy my kids.” I almost cried. I was so distracted and just chattering nonsense, but another mom took a moment out to tell me she thought I was doing a good job. It’s so great when moms support one another, and I think it’s especially wonderful when it’s a stranger. I’m going to remember to do that the next time I see a mom either having a hard time or doing something I admire–remind her she’s not alone!
lol i’d stash my daughter anywhere to get pampered. lol
